What It Is

Probiotics are live, beneficial microorganisms that live in our gut. This daily probiotic supplement features four probiotic strains, including the extensively studied HN019 strain of Bifidobacterium lactis, plus Saccharomyces boulardii (Sb), a non-pathogenic probiotic yeast, to complement a healthy gastrointestinal environment further. (Saccharomyces boulardii supports a healthy balance of gut microbiota.†) Acid-resistant, vegetarian capsules target delivery to the small intestine, as they alleviate exposure to the low pH environment of the stomach. Each capsule is sealed in a nitrogen-purged blister pack to protect from heat, moisture, and oxygen, factors known to compromise probiotic stability.†

How to Use:

As a dietary supplement, take one (1) vegetarian acid-resistant capsule daily or as directed by your health care professional. Each box contains 30 servings.

How It Helps

This everyday Advanced Daily Probiotic supplement provides four strains and 35 billion CFU probiotics to support gut microflora and immune function.

Immune Health

A meta-analysis of 18 randomized clinical trials including 1,047 participants (with 514 in the probiotic group) on Lactobacillus plantarum and immune health suggests L. plantarum enhances immune response by modulating pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Blood Pressure Support

A review of nine clinical trials, including 534 adults  (18 years and older), found a significant reduction in systolic (3.56 mm Hg) and diastolic (2.38 mm Hg) compared to placebo. However, the Heart Outcomes Prevention Evaluation (HOPE Study) found reducing systolic blood pressure by 3.3 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure by 1.4 mm Hg was associated with a 22 percent reduction in stroke, heart attack, or cardiovascular event resulting in death.

Allergic Rhinitis Relief

A review of 23 studies found some evidence that lactobacillus probiotics may help improve symptoms and quality of life of seasonal hay fever sufferers.

Cholesterol Management

A meta-analysis of 15 studies with 976 subjects found lactobacillus probiotics reduced total cholesterol by about 10 mg/dL and LDL by about 9 mg/dL in patients with or without hypercholesterolemia. However, Lactobacillus probiotics did not change HDL cholesterol.

Lung and Respiratory Tract Support

A 2015 review of 12 studies indicated people taking probiotics may have fewer and shorter upper respiratory infections. Lactobacillus seems to prevent respiratory tract infections in most adults, while bifidobacteria seems to prevent respiratory tract infections in otherwise healthy adults.

Digestive Health Support

Advanced Daily Probiotic supplement is intentionally formulated to contribute to a healthy digestive tract and support optimal gastrointestinal health. (Read the blog about the health benefits of probiotics to learn more.)

As a dietary supplement, adults take one (1) capsule daily or as directed by their health care professional. Each box contains 30 vegetarian acid-resistant capsules.

14 Questions
Ask a Question
Q:

I can’t swallow capsules. Can I open the capsules and add the powder to something else in order to consume it?

A:

Yes, you may open the capsule and add the powder to something else to consume it.  Keep in mind heat can kill off some of the good bacteria, so we suggest taking it in something at room temperature.

Q:

I am concerned that the heat used to seal the pack might kill the bacteria. Does it still contain the amount of bacteria it states on the label?

A:

Heat is not the only thing responsible for killing off friendly bacteria. Air and light also accelerate die-off. This is why we use nitrogen-purged blister packs. If capsules are in a bottle, every time someone opens it, it accelerates the die-off because the capsules are exposed to air and light. In order to ensure that the cfu count still meets the label claim at the time of the expiration date, we put in an overage. So, even if there is any heating involved in production, it is accounted for. They are also sent to an independent lab and verified to meet or exceed the label claim.

Q:

Does the probiotic need to be taken on an empty stomach to be most effective?

A:

The most important thing is to take probiotics consistently. Probiotics are tested to ensure they can survive various conditions in your stomach.

Some research suggests taking probiotics 20-30 minutes before a meal may be beneficial, but consistency is more important than timing.

Q:

I just received a shipment of Advanced Daily Probiotic, and the box was subjected to freezing temperatures for several days as I was out of town. What impact do freezing temperatures have on the probiotic?

A:

Freezing temperatures are actually a very good thing for probiotic stability. In fact, most probiotics are freeze-dried.

While freezing temperatures (be they mother nature or the deep freeze in your home) are great for preserving the life and stability of your probiotic, moisture, sunlight, and heat are what accelerate the die-off of probiotics. This is why our probiotic is in a nitrogen-purged blister pack.

The nitrogen-purged blister pack is absolutely the best way to protect these live microorganisms. Many people keep their probiotics in the freezer until they’re ready to consume them, as this extends the life of the probiotic further.

Q:

Should a healthy 79-year-old woman take this probiotic and your multivitamin?

A:

A probiotic and multivitamin both support your health.  A multivitamin is meant to help with nutrient deficiencies in your diet. A probiotic supports a healthy gut microbiome and does not replace nutrients. Probiotics have both therapeutic benefits and probiotics have preventive properties as well. For example, they support a healthy immune system. Even things you might not consider a health condition, such as allergies, can benefit from taking a probiotic. If you’re interested in adding a probiotic to your supplement routine, your healthcare provider can help you determine if it is right for you.  You can read more about probiotic benefits here.

Q:

Can I use a pill organizer for the Advanced Daily Probiotic?

A:

Because probiotics are living microorganisms, storage is important. They need to be protected from light and moisture. We recommend keeping them in the original blister pack, in a cool, dry location. We recommend not using a weekly pill organizer as they are usually not airtight and could impact the effectiveness of the probiotic.

Q:

Why don’t you store the probiotic in a glass container? I heard those are better than plastic.

A:

Probiotics need to be stored in a container that will block light and humidity. Our nitrogen-purged blister packs provide protection from heat, moisture, and oxygen, factors that may compromise probiotic stability.

Q:

Do probiotics help prevent urinary tract infections?

Also, if taking Cooper calcium and Cooper complete multi, when should probiotics be taken?

A:

Antibiotics used in treating UTI infections reduce the number of lactobacilli in the urinary system and may destroy the existing natural barrier of the urinary system to fight infections. Probiotics can help restore the balance. There is some research suggesting probiotics may be beneficial for preventing recurring UTIs as well as restoring the balance after taking antibiotics; however, further research is needed to confirm this.

You may take probiotics with your other supplements without affecting the effectiveness of the probiotic or other supplement/vitamin.

Q:

Does this product contain soy?

A:

Cooper Complete Probiotic is formulated to not contain soy but is manufactured in a facility that manufactures products containing soy. Although the equipment is cleaned between product runs, cross-contamination could occur.

Q:

What is your opinion on probiotics for mood and brain health?

A:

As always we look to scientific research as a basis for our opinion.

Your brain and gut communicate; known as the gut-brain axis. Recent studies have shown that consuming probiotics may help improve your mood. Specifically, Bifidobacterium longum found in Cooper Complete Advance Probiotic, has been researched for therapeutic benefits for anxiety and depression.

Q:

Should probiotics be taken in the am or pm?

A:

It does not matter if it is morning or evening; the most important thing is consistency, so take the Advanced Daily Probiotic Supplement at a time convenient for you.

Q:

Can I take this product if I am also taking anticoagulant medication (i.e., blood thinners)?

A:

If you are taking anticoagulant medication, we recommend consulting your doctor before adding any supplements to your diet.

Q:

Why doesn’t this probiotic supplement require refrigeration?

A:

Advanced Daily Probiotic Supplement vegetarian capsules are acid-resistant (and bile-resistant) and break down in the small intestine rather than the stomach. A cryoprotectant stabilization process makes the vegetarian capsules shelf-stable. Intestinal fluid dissolves the capsule content directly into the small intestine. The capsules are sealed in a nitrogen-purged blister pack to protect from heat, moisture, and oxygen.

This product should be stored in a cool, dry place away from moisture and heat. Do NOT open the nitrogen-purged blister pack until you are ready to take the probiotic supplement.

Q:

How many probiotic strains are in the probiotic?

A:

Advanced Daily Probiotic Supplement features four strains that have been clinically researched to support immune and gastrointestinal function including Bifidobacterium lactis NH019, Lactiplantbacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus acidophilus,  and Bifidobacterium longum. As well as Saccharomyces boulardii, (the yeast widely known for its use in kombucha beverages.)
