What It Is

Iron Bisglycinate Supplement from Cooper Complete helps support healthy circulation, immune health, and energy production. Iron is a mineral that lives in every cell in the human body, yet it is the most prevalent mineral deficiency.

Like heme iron, the most bioavailable form of iron, Ferrochel® Ferrous Bisglycinate, isn’t impacted by dietary factors. In studies comparing this form of iron to other rock-salt forms (most commonly ferrous sulfate), the Ferrochel® patented form of iron shows absorption rates 59 percent higher than ferrous sulfate. Ferrochel® iron also shows fewer adverse complaints compared to ferrous sulfate. Subjects at 30 mg per serving (Cooper Complete Iron Bisglycinate Supplement is 29 mg per serving) reported no complaints of side effects.

How to Use:

As a dietary supplement, take one (1) Iron Bisglycinate Supplement vegetarian capsule daily or as directed by your health care professional. Each vegetarian capsule provides 29 mg of Ferrochel® (ferrous bisglycinate chelate) iron that is extremely well tolerated by the gastrointestinal system and highly absorbed. Each bottle contains 60 tablets.

How It Helps

Healthy Circulation:

  • Iron helps carry oxygen throughout the body
  • Iron protects hemoglobin levels in the blood

Growth and Development:

  • Iron is needed by the body to support growth and development
  • Iron supports erythroferrone and hepcidin hormones

Immune Health:

  • Iron supports the creation of red blood cells to repair damaged tissue and cells
  • Iron improves immune response by promoting a healthy response to infection

Energy Production:

  • Iron releases oxygen from the blood into muscles and tissues

Healthy iron levels prevent anemia, the most common blood disorder in the world. In 2016, anemia was the primary diagnosis in 2.8 million physician office visits. And in 2021, anemia was the primary diagnosis responsible for 800,000 emergency department visits. Anemia or Iron Deficiency is responsible for 1.8 deaths per 100,000.

Cooper Complete Iron Bisglycinate Supplement is formulated with Ferrochel® Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelated iron formed by binding iron to two organic glycine molecules. The patented chelation process leaves Ferrochel® iron ionically neutral, so it doesn’t block the absorption of other nutrients. In addition,  the small molecular size of Ferrochel® iron allows the iron to remain intact throughout the gastrointestinal tract for optimal absorption.

11 Questions
Ask a Question
Q:

Is this heme or non-heme iron?

A:

It is non-heme iron.

Q:

What is the glycerin in Time Release Iron Supplement derived from?

A:

The glycerin in this product is derived from palm.

Q:

Does Time Release Iron Supplement contain any ingredients derived from corn?

A:

No. Time Release Iron Supplement is corn-free.

Q:

Can Iron be taken with acid-blocking or over-the-counter medications?

A:

No. Cooper Complete Time Release Iron Supplement requires stomach acids to be appropriately absorbed, so should not be taken with acid-blocking medications (over-the-counter or prescription).

Q:

Should Iron be taken with food or on an empty stomach?

A:

Cooper Complete Time Release Iron requires adequate stomach acid for absorption. For this reason, this product should be taken with food. Common breakfast items, including coffee, eggs, and whole-grain cereals, can reduce iron absorption. Therefore, we suggest taking this product at lunch and/or dinner. In addition, both iced tea and hot tea reduce iron absorption, so do not drink tea for one hour after consuming iron.

Q:

Who is at risk of iron deficiency?

A:

As identified by the National Institutes of Health, the following groups are at risk of iron deficiency: pregnant women, infants, young children, women with heavy menstrual bleeding, frequent blood donors, people with cancer, people who have gastrointestinal disorders or have had gastrointestinal surgery and people with heart failure.

Q:

Are men or women most likely to have an iron deficiency?

A:

Iron deficiency is most common in menstruating women, although it is also common in children and pregnant women.

Q:

What are the signs of iron deficiency?

A:

Fatigue, headache, pale skin, shortness of breath, and dizziness are all possible symptoms of an iron deficiency.

Q:

What foods contain high levels of iron?

A:

Beans, lentils, dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, cashews, and fortified cereals provide plant-based sources of iron, while lean beef, poultry, and oysters provide animal-based levels of iron. (The body absorbs two to three times more iron from animal sources than plant sources.)

Q:

Should I take calcium with iron?

A:

Iron and calcium supplements can compete for absorption in the body when taken at the same time. Therefore it may be beneficial to take these at different times.

Q:

What does iron do for the body?

A:

Iron is a mineral the body needs to make hemoglobin for red blood cells to carry oxygen from the lungs. Iron also helps create myoglobin to provide oxygen to muscles. In addition, the body needs iron to make some hormones and connective tissue.
