Reviews of Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin Supplement 1000 mcg

  1. There is a huge difference in these vitamins and what I was taking. I’m in my 60’s and feel like I’m in my 30’s! I sleep better, have more energy, and ache less. I highly recommend these vitamins

    verified purchase

  2. There’s certainly a discernible difference between the B12 I was taking and Cooper Complete B12. I’m glad I read extensively about vitamin B12. All are certainly not created equal. I will be purchasing this B12 going forward.

13 Questions
Ask a Question
Q:

Should vitamin B12 be taken in the morning or evening?

A:

Vitamin B12 can be taken at any time of day, but many people prefer taking it in the morning.† Because B12 supports energy metabolism† and can help promote alertness†, taking it earlier in the day may help avoid any potential interference with sleep in sensitive individuals.† Consistency in daily use is more important than the exact time of day.†

Q:

Is there cyanocobalamin in your vitamin B12?

A:

Vitamin B-12 contains the most bioavailable form of B12, methylcobalamin.†  It does not contain cyanocobalamin.

Q:

Are your vitamins third party tested?

A:

Cooper Complete products are verified, and lot tested. If you would like a copy of a Certificate of Authenticity for a specific product, please contact us at customerservice@coopercomplete.com.

Q:

I have twin boys aged 9 and have ASD. I’ve been reading that methylcobalamin B12 could help them. Do you ship to the UK? They are nonverbal but understand everything. We are desperate. Are the injections better for speech? Thank you.

A:

Thank you for reaching out, and we truly understand your desire to explore every option to support your sons. At this time, we only ship within the United States and its territories, and unfortunately, cannot ship internationally, including to the UK.

Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B12 that supports general neurological function and cellular energy production.† Some parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have explored B12 supplementation as part of broader wellness strategies, typically under the guidance of a healthcare provider.†

The research indicates a daily supplement pill is as effective as taking a monthly muscle injection for many people, but it may depend on individual health needs and should be discussed with your child’s physician, who can provide guidance based on their medical history and nutritional status.

Q:

Since B12 is better absorbed sublingually, why did you switch to pills?

A:

While sublingual B12 is commonly promoted for better absorption, research indicates that oral and sublingual forms are similarly effective at supporting healthy B12 levels†. In fact, clinical studies have shown that B12 taken orally versus under the tongue is equally effective in correcting B12 deficiency†. We moved to a capsule format to provide better value—offering 100 servings at the same price as the previous 30-serving liquid.

Q:

Is it better to take vitamin B12 supplements with or without food?

A:

Vitamin B12 is one of the water-soluble vitamins, so it can be taken on an empty stomach with a glass of water (although taking it with food will also be okay).

Q:

Can I take this product if I am also taking Coumadin or Warfarin?

A:

If you are taking Coumadin (warfarin), or any prescription blood thinner, consult your healthcare provider before using dietary supplements.

Q:

What are the symptoms of a Vitamin B12 deficiency?

A:

Vitamin B12 plays a role in energy production and nervous system health. Low intake over time may be associated with feelings of fatigue or occasional forgetfulness†. However, these signs can have many causes. If you are experiencing ongoing symptoms, consult your healthcare provider, who may recommend testing your B12 levels to determine if supplementation is appropriate.

Q:

Who is at risk for having a Vitamin B12 deficiency?

A:

Vitamin B12 is found naturally in animal-based foods. People who follow vegetarian or vegan diets, or who consume limited animal products, may have a lower intake of B12. Older adults, individuals who have had certain gastrointestinal surgeries, and those taking medications that reduce stomach acid (such as proton-pump inhibitors or H2 blockers) may also experience reduced absorption of B12. If you have concerns about your B12 status, consult a healthcare provider who can determine if testing or supplementation is appropriate.

Q:

How do I know if I should take B12 Methylcobalamin Supplement?

A:

The only way to know for sure if you need a B12 supplement is to get a blood test to determine how much B12 is in your body. The accepted range for B12 is between 254 and 1,320 picograms per milliliter of blood serum. However, Cooper Clinic physicians like to see at least 450 picograms per milliliter of blood serum or higher.

Q:

Is there Vitamin B12 in Cooper Complete multivitamins?

A:

Yes, all of our adult multivitamin and mineral formulations contain 400 mcg of Vitamin B12 (in the most active, absorbable methylcobalamin form† of B12) per daily serving.

Q:

In what foods is vitamin B12 found?

A:

Vitamin B12 is found in animal products (fish, poultry, meat, eggs, and dairy). Breakfast cereals and enriched soy or rice milk are also often fortified with B12. Both beef liver and clams, an odd combination, have incredibly high levels of B12, but omega-rich salmon and trout have good levels, and there is some B12 in chicken, tuna, yogurt, milk, eggs and cheese. Virtually all multivitamins contain B12, but usually in the cyanocobalamin form, which is not as easily absorbed as the methylcobalamin form.†

Q:

Are your supplements tested on animals?

A:

No, Cooper Complete does not test our products on animals.
