What It Is

Cooper Complete Zinc Supplement 25 mg is for individuals who need more than the 15 mg of zinc contained in all Cooper Complete adult multivitamin tablets.

How to Use:

As a dietary supplement, take one (1) tablet daily or as directed by your health care professional. 25 mg of zinc per tablet. Each bottle contains 100 servings.

How It Helps

Cooper Complete® Zinc Supplement contains 25 mg of zinc as zinc gluconate and zinc citrate for better absorption.† Zinc is an essential mineral necessary for good health. The body uses zinc for DNA and protein production. Zinc helps the immune system response.†

While oysters provide high levels of zinc, other shellfish, beef, pork and poultry all contain zinc. Whole grains, beans and nuts and seeds also contain zinc but at lower levels than animal sources. Packaged breakfast cereals and meal replacement bars are often fortified with zinc. Mild zinc deficiency is fairly common.

Each bottle of Zinc supplement contains 100 tablets. The daily recommended serving is one tablet or as recommended by your physician.

All Cooper Complete multivitamins contain 15 mg of zinc. We recommend you not consume more than 50 mg of zinc supplements daily. This supplement is an option for individuals who have been advised by their physician that they need additional zinc supplementation.

8 Questions
Ask a Question
Q:

Is it okay to take zinc and magnesium together?

A:

Yes. For more information on the topic, see our blog post, Can You Take Zinc and Magnesium Together?

Q:

Do zinc supplements impact calcium absorption?

A:

For optimal absorption, it is recommended to take zinc and calcium supplements at different times, as they may interfere with each other’s absorption when taken together.† To get the most benefit, take these minerals at least two hours apart. Zinc is best absorbed when taken at least one hour before or two hours after a meal.†

Q:

What zinc medication interactions should I be aware of?

A:

Zinc supplements reduce the effectiveness and absorption of both zinc and antibiotics. To minimize the effect, take the antibiotic at least two hours before, or four-six hours after the zinc supplement.

Zinc supplements also lower the absorption of the medication penicillamine (used to treat rheumatoid arthritis). To minimize the effect, this zinc supplement should be taken at least two hours before or after taking penicillamine.

Thiazide diuretics (such as hydrochlorothiazide) can increase the amount of zinc lost through urination.

Q:

I’ve heard zinc supplements can help reduce stinky foot odors. Is this true?

A:

There is anecdotal evidence that 50- 100 mg zinc supplements daily may reduce foot odor.

Q:

Should I take this product if I am also taking Coumadin or Warfarin?

A:

If you are taking Coumadin or Warfarin, we recommend consulting your doctor before adding any supplements to your diet.

Q:

Can too much zinc be harmful?

A:

Yes. Taking too much zinc long-term can cause serious health problems as copper levels are decreased. This can suppress the immune system and also cause heart problems and anemia. For this reason, we do not recommend taking more than one (1) zinc capsule per day. HDL cholesterol level may lessen if too much zinc is taken long term.

Q:

How much zinc is in the Cooper Complete multivitamin I take?

A:

Cooper Complete Original and Cooper Complete Basic One multivitamins and mineral formulations contain 15 mg of zinc.

Q:

Can I take Zinc on an empty stomach?

A:

Zinc supplements are best absorbed when taken on an empty stomach. or optimal absorption, take Cooper Complete Zinc Supplement at least one hour before or two hours after a meal.† If you need to take it with food for stomach comfort, try to avoid high-fiber foods, as they can interfere with zinc absorption.†
